Cornell, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr.
Cornell has developed his practice philosophy from 20 years of
practicing urology. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, he is a graduate
of the University of Alabama and received his M.D. from the University
of Alabama in Birmingham. His residency training was at Tulane
University in New Orleans, Louisiana and the University of Alabama
in Birmingham. Dr. Cornell is certified by the American Board
of Urology and recertified in 2005. He is a Fellow of the American
College of Surgeons. He is licensed in Georgia, Alabama, and California.
Upon
completion of residency, he was in private practice in Birmingham,
Alabama and then joined Kaiser Permanente where he continued his
career until 2001, serving as the chief of urology. Dr. Cornell
made the decision to leave managed care to found his own practice
with the idea of providing the pinnacle of high-quality service
along with individualized and highly attentive care.
Dr.
Cornell is an active staff member in the Department of Surgery,
Urology Section at Northside and Crawford Long Hospitals as well
as a several outpatient surgery centers.
